In a sample of current Siem Reap menus reviewed in August 2026, 60-minute massage prices ranged from about US$8 to US$70–80 at some luxury hotel and resort spas.
Between those extremes, several independent spas reviewed listed 60-minute massages at around US$18–37.
These are examples from current published menus, not fixed market categories or average prices. Prices change, and the final cost can also depend on the massage type, duration, setting and what is included.

The spread is large, but it does not mean that massage quality can be ranked neatly from US$8 to US$80. Different businesses are selling different combinations of massage time, setting, facilities, service and additional elements.

Why do massage prices vary so much?
Duration
Many spas offer more than one treatment duration, so the length of the session is one of the first things to check.
Comparing a 60-minute treatment with a 90-minute treatment simply because the headline prices are similar can be misleading.
It is also worth checking whether the advertised duration refers entirely to massage time or to a longer experience containing several stages.
Massage type and what the session includes
A massage using oil may be priced differently from one performed without oil. Other sessions can involve herbal compresses, hot stones, steam, baths or additional treatments.
But the name of the massage alone does not predict the price.
In the menus reviewed, some Khmer massages were among the least expensive treatments, while luxury hotels charged considerably more for their own Khmer massage. The establishment and the way the treatment is structured matter at least as much as the label attached to it.

Setting and facilities
Part of the price may relate to the environment surrounding the massage.
A simple massage shop and a hotel spa may both offer a 60-minute treatment, but the hotel price can also reflect the wider setting, facilities, reception service and operating model of the property.
Independent spas occupy many different positions between these two ends of the market. Some concentrate mainly on the treatment itself, while others provide a more elaborate spa environment.
This does not tell you how good the hands-on massage will be. It simply means that the customer may be paying for more than the massage alone.
What is included in the displayed price
This is easy to overlook.
Some treatments consist only of the massage. Others include additional stages or amenities. And some establishments display a final price while others add service charges or tax.
Current Siem Reap menus use several approaches: some show a straightforward final amount, some state additional service and VAT, and others use ++ after the price.
Before comparing two treatments, check whether you are actually comparing the same thing.

PRICE AND QUALITY
Does paying more mean a better massage?
Not necessarily.
A higher price can buy a more polished environment, additional facilities, more elaborate service or a treatment inside a luxury hotel or resort. Those things may matter greatly if that is the experience you want.
But price alone does not tell you whether the massage style, pressure or practitioner will suit what you are looking for.
The reverse is also true. A low price does not automatically mean a poor massage.
At lower prices, the service may be simpler and include fewer facilities or additional stages. But price alone still tells you very little about the quality of the hands-on massage.
The useful distinction is therefore not cheap versus good or expensive versus good.
It is what kind of experience the price represents.

What should you check before booking?
A 90-minute experience is not necessarily a 90-minute massage.
Check whether it is performed with or without oil and what kind of pressure or technique is normally used.
“Deep” should not mean applying maximum pressure regardless of the person receiving the massage.
Steam, baths, herbal compresses or other stages can substantially change the nature and length of a session.
Check whether tax or service charges are added.
Availability varies between establishments. If a particular time matters to you, it is worth checking in advance.

Sra Thnam is difficult to compare on massage price alone because the quoted session includes more than the massage itself.
There is one core Khmer therapeutic ritual. The structure remains the same, while the massage portion changes in duration.
The displayed price is final. Sra Thnam does not add tax, and tips are optional.

The US$35 option, for example, is therefore not simply another 60-minute massage to compare with a US$35 massage elsewhere. It combines 60 minutes of focused Khmer bodywork with approximately 30 minutes of herbal steam and an infused herbal bath.
